The Femme-O-lition Derby is an annual variety show showcasing the astonishing talents of queer femmes.  Aerialists, acrobats, gender impersonators, burlesqueers, live vocalists & hilarious talent unleash a perpetual array of astonishment! Curated and produced by New Mexico’s own circus burlesque bombshell, September Smith, Femme-O-lition is the creation of an annual, multidisciplinary show based on collaborations between artists from different art forms and cultures with the idea of celebrating our greatest and most universal power: creativity. Last year’s show included performances such as: a fast-paced, gravity defying duo trapeze act, live vocalists, ground acrobatic antics, comedic musical talent & professional gender impersonation!

September has nourished this production from a small black box theatre show to it’s 2008 incarnation, at the historic KiMo Theatre in Albuquerque, NM.

Femme-O-Lition 2009 is seeking performer proposals for shows in Albuquerque & Santa Fe late summer as well as performers interested in being in a Fall 2009 small East Coast Tour. Please specify either the regional NM shows or the East Coast Tour or both.

We are poets, circus performers, chefs, break dancers, union organizers, burlesque artists, singers, activists and story tellers, and we will take your money, break your heart, and send you home wanting more…with a smile on your face, of course!
